    My Gamertag was forced change as [Mod Remover] i deemed offensive


    So I've had this account for many years yet I have never had a complaint about it but today, I was messaged by xbox live telling me i had breached their code of conducts, Like how does [Mod Remover] offend anyone seriously? And now they've given me the gamertag
    and if i want to change it i have to pay for it, how is that fair?

    Unfortunately you will not be issued a Forced Name Change unless your name is deemed offensive.

    I changed my Gamertag recently and it was deemed offensive, ( I do agree ). I was hoping I could change this to something other than my system generated account.

    I contacted support and my no. is : [Mod Removed]

    I have submitted a case review and they reviewed it and they seem to still think [Mod Remover] is an offensive name

    I am wondering why the xbox team changed my online name because of a offensive name apparently. Why would they change it for you??? Why not force the change of a name when the person logs in??? Now you have to pay $11 for a bloody name change because
    xbox decided to change it which is bs tbh, i rather that then getting a [Mod Removed – Profanity] made up bot name
    The used to allow you to change your gamertag for free when it was deemed offensive but too many people took advantage if that and changed their gamertag to something just as equally offensive. Due to this they now force change your name to a randomly generated
    gamertag and then make you pay to change it again after that.

    Unfortunately that was a case of the few ruining it for the many.

    Xbox Live Gamertag.

    You wouldn't be banned if your Gamertag was deemed offensive.

    (Only with multiple, egregious offences would this happen.)

    If they find it offensive, they'll force a name-change onto the account, to something you do not get to choose.

    The only way to choose a new Gamertag yourself is to pay the change fee.
