My gamertag now has 4 numbers behind it

I payed $10 to change my gamertag to x, but instead of it staying like that it made me x4211. If it didn't show up on Minecraft I would be fine with it, but it does, and that annoys me. Can I at least change the numbers without paying?
If so, how?

The numbers are added when you choose the same tag someone else already has. There's no way to change the numbers as they are randomly generated to keep multiple people from having the same ones.

They only put numbers behind identical gamertags. That means someone already has the one you want (without numbers) You can choose the same gamertag but it will come with numbers unique to you.

I just want to change my gamertag because I have number behind it, there is not solution to change my gamertag free.

I also have a similar issue. When I originally changed my gamertag from the random one to this one and was told everything was ok. Everything went through just fine and I received a #number behind my name. I initially thought this was just an extra identifier
but now my ingame name has the number directly attached to it instead of being an extra identifier.

you can change gamertag without having numbers behind only if this gamertag is not already used
