I definitely understand. This is how the system works, unfortunately. You can try requesting a refund after the change though but not really a guarantee to get it approved.

Well that’s just sad because it’s just the same username but without the suffix

Unfortunately, there is no way around this because the system will recognize that this is no longer the first change of the gamertag which is for free. Each account can only have one free gamertag and the next should already have a charge to change it.

The problem is I have to pay to get rid of the suffix and put the same gamertag is there anyway to not pay because I didn’t know that it will have suffix even though if I changed it on the old account and deleted the account.

Just a heads up, this may or may not be available anymore on the other account because of the new update of the gamertag that anyone can have the same gamertag because of the suffix. The system may still recognize this gamertag as being used previously and may not be updated to be used on another gamertag. You can try it after 24-48 hours but it is no longer a guarantee if the original gamertag can still be used.
