My Gamer Tag was taken by a Gamer Tag turbo hacker the second i changed my name

About 2 days ago i wanted to change my gamer tag to something else, my previously gamer tag was a 3 letter name that i obtained during the 2016 Gamer Tag recycle. So i wanted to change my gamer tag to change my second account's name
to my original tag when all of the sudden it said it was taken literally not even 20 seconds after i went back to my second account to get my name back to leave my name there just in case i wanted to change my 3 letter name back to my original account, and
keep in mind they took it not even 20 seconds after i changed my name which in reality a normal person would not have taken that particular name within that time frame mind you because it was a random 3 letter name that was an abbreviation to a name. So then
after that happened i talked to someone about the situation and was told that there are hackers that use programs to swipe any 3 letter or 2 letter gamer tags that are available in seconds and that the same thing happened to one of his friends many years ago
after changing his 3 letter name. If any Xbox Live employee sees this post, hopefully you guys can help me out cause i really want my name back and hopefully after i get it back i'm never changing it again. So fair warning for anyone who has a 3 character
name or 2 character name, if you really love that name, DO NOT change it or you'll risk it getting swiped by these Turbo gamer tag hackers.

Gamer tag got changed

Someone changed my gamer tag from HeavyMetalPinas to HappyBunny, but I don't know how they did it. I just went onto my Xbox and my gamer tag was changed. I couldn't change it back to the original gamer tag. Now, I have to make a new one and pay $10. Why
did this happen? Did someone hack me? At first, I just sent someone named HappyBunny a message saying, "I tried to save you." and after the game his name was as my gamer tag.

I had a gamer tag but when i downloaded my profile to my Xbox it changed my gamer tag name . Any way i can get my old name back ?

 

2 letter and 3 letter GTs have always been in high demand. It's not surprising that the tag would have been take immediately. There are no programs that take these GTs. Just people around the world that keep trying to get them and one person got it at the
right time.

 

I changed my gamer tag one time to something else as well and decided I wanted to change it back because nobody realized who I was because I had my old one so long. When I wanted to change it back I had to wait 24 to 48 hours before returning to my old
gamer tag. I am not saying this will be the same for you but it would be worth the shot to try it in a day or so. If not But I don't believe there is truly Turbo Gamer Tag Hackers.

 

Believe me there are such programs, i looked it up and there's numerous versions of them, these "Gamer Tag Turbo programs" that these people use to snatch the gamer tags that are 3 or 2 characters have many versions, some can find GT's quick and some just
scan to see which GT's are available, people can also make there own turbo sofware. Seeing as your an Xbox moderator you can look it up for yourself, because yes i know it's possible for someone to get a tag the moment someone changed there tag, just not milaseconds
after they change it, its just not possible because i had both my profiles open to make sure i change my name as fast as possible before anyone takes it.

 

If you had to wait 24 or 48 hours how does it explain the fact that they instantly took the tag in less than a second. If i had to wait 24 or 48 hours no one would of been able to get it untill after that time. But as i said the moment i changed my tag
someone already had the previous name i had with 0 gamerscore the same day and same second i changed it.

 

And just as side note, if you think a program didn't take the name why hasen't the person who took the name ever go back online since the day they took it? Wouldn't you think that they would be playing on that account if you think they managed to take
the account legitimatly? Let alone the account has no gamerscore and no activity what so ever on that account. You would think the person who got the name would be on that account since they got it and Its been 2 days on top of that.

 

It meant that you have to wait the time period to change your gamertag again, not the gamertag has to waitvthe time period until someone can take the now available gamertag.

I did, but i doubt xbox live is going to even notice just one report by me, mainly cause i'm not sure what happens after someone gets reported i just assume that the report message goes to you guys but out of thousands of reports every day i doubt my reports
would ever been seen. But i did report the person about 5 times. This just really sucks how these people instantly took my name instantly without chance, and it was obviously the work of someone breaking the Code of Conduct by using the 3rd party sofware to
obtain tags. Now that tag is just sitting there until the person finds someone to sell it to because as i said he hasn't gone onto the account since he's took it.

 

I understand but i said that i was trying to change my second accounts gamer tag to my original gamer tag which was the 3 letter, because i would understand if i was trying to change the gamer tag on my original account again back to the original name,
but i wanted to change the name on a fresh account to hold on to the name in case i wanted to change it back one day, while of course keeping the account active from time to time. Thats all i wanted to do but then that happend at i was very disappointed because
i know it wasn't taken legitimatley and it's very obvious because like i saod he hasn't been on since he got the name instantly.

 

It only takes 1 report for the enforcement team to investigate an account and every report is seen.
