Go to your Microsoft account and check your subscriptions, see if Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate is active, if it is and even so you can't play so go to Xbox Enforcement website to check if your profile has any restriction.

i got a gift card for some game pass ultimate but ended up using it on the wrong account and now it has basically gone to waste so is there any possibility to have it transfered to a another microsoft account??

If your trying to transfer game pass to another account you can go to settings, personation, my home Xbox and you can set your console as your home Xbox which will allow your other account to use game pass as long as its on the same Xbox

Does the account you're trying to play with have an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription?

I'm fairly sure that the account has to have its own sub for it to work, so you can't be sharing someone else's Ultimate sub.

I apologize, there is no option to transfer a subscription from one account to another. Once a subscription is redeemed, it will always be associated with the account that redeemed it. However, you can share the subscription with the correct account by signing in to the account that has the subscription and setting it as the Home Xbox on your console. Please follow these steps:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

3. Select Make this my home Xbox.
