My game disc did not return after sending console to Xbox Support for power issue (...

I had my Xbox One S replaced given I had a power issue and the console would not turn on. I noted there was Mortal Kombat XL game disc inside the console with the Xbox agent prior to collection of the faulty console.

To open the console myself manually to remove the game disc would revoke the warranty.

Therefore the faulty console was taken away by the Xbox agents here in South Africa with the game inside. The agents used were Seaborne Logistics (+27 11 396 1900). The order number I was given is [mod removed] Device type was Xbox One S-1TB. Serial number was [mod removed]. Order date was 12/10/2020. The device was received by Microsoft on 15 October 2020 according to the update email I received from the Microsoft Support Team (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***)

The tracking number for the replacement console that was sent back to me was [mod removed]

Before collection I explicitly informed the Xbox agent I was dealing with (calling from Egypt) of the situation with not having being able to remove the game given the nature of the fault of the console and implications on the warranty.

A replacement console was delivered however, XBox never accounted for the Mortal Kombat XL game disc. Game discs are extremely expensive in South Africa and to not have XBox atleast provide my game disc back or to compensate with the downloadable version is extremely unfair. I have tried to contact Xbox via their customer care email but it returns an error message. I am not in a position to replace the Mortal Kombat XL game as this is very expensive and in princiole, from a treating customers fairly (TCF) principles perspective, I should not be buying another game disc given that I already had done so and it is with Microsoft/Xbox. It is very disappointing that I should suffer this loss. Please help me have this rectified please.

My game disc did not return after sending console to Xbox Support for power issue ( Console wouldn't turn on): How can I get my game back?

You can try contacting support, but packaging instructions when sendong consoles in for repair do state that anything sent in with the console is not guaranteed to be returned. Occasionally it might get sent back in a separate package. http://support.xbox.com/contact-us If you don't see the options to request a call back or chat with support, change your category/topic until you do. Billing & Subscriptions and "I don't recognize a charge" usually works for me.

Xbox One Doesn't Connect to Wifi After Startup

    ^ thanks for replying.

I don't know the model of my router. other than it's what was supplied by ATT, my ISP. It's a router + modem combo and I think Motorola is the brand.

As for troubleshooting steps, I tried the Hard Reset/Power Cycle. I also did a full Factory Reset of the console.

That seemed to fix the issue - but then it started coming back. but not as frequently.

I did talk with MS support today via chat. and after a lengthy discussion, they recommended sending in the console for repairs or returning it to the store where I bought it.

I've decided to do the latter and return the console.

    Xbox 360 Slim red-rings

Yeah, that is an issue. The disc being in the drive and the console being moved is only a potential harm for the disc and only when the disc is spinning from being on. So that in itself an issue. As far as the warranty, yes it voids the warranty if you pop
the seal and open, don't do that. Otherwise Microsoft will not touch your console. In one hand you'd have your disc back, but the console is now a paperweight so weigh the differences. The console costs more to replace than the disc would be. As far as getting
the disc returned. On Xbox 360 consoles the website states to remove hdd, faceplates and discs because they could be lost and not returned. I know that I lost a faceplate that way. So before sending it in I would recommend calling Australian customer support
and see if there is a note they could put in the repair order to send the disc back with the repaired or replaced console.

Unable to read game from Disc - Has worked in the past

    Hello ,

Thanks for reaching out to Xbox forums support.

We appreciate all the details that you're sharing with us to help get this issue resolved.

Just to be clear, you've tried the Ghost Recon: Wildlands disc game on 3 different consoles, your new console, your old console

and your friend's console? And it hasn't worked on either of the 3 consoles? Is that correct?

One thing I would suggest trying is, unplugging your Xbox one X console from the power supply / wall outlet for 5 minutes.

Then plugging it back in and trying the disc again.
How to restart or power cycle your Xbox One console

Let us know! I hope this helped!

I have tried my GR:Wildlands disc on my two Xboxes. But to make sure it was not an issue with the disc, I borrowed my friend's GR:Wildlands disc, and that disc did not work either. My friends disc works at his Xbox.

    Game replacement

Hi! First off it depends on where you bought the game if they will return it. But after that long it's probably unlikely. Have you checked if there are any scratches on the disc which could prevent the console from reading it? Besides that you might want
to perform a power cycle in order to see if that fixes the issue: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/power-cycle-console
