    My Game Bar recording does not work unless I turn it off and back on in settings.


    When I go to open Game bar with a game running and go to record what happened its always grayed out saying its "Gaming features aren't available for the Windows desktop or File explorer". When I go to settings -> gaming -> captures (while a game is running) my settings app freezes and wont allow me to open it unless I completely restart my PC. When I restart it and go to the app and turn it off (with no game running) and back on I can start recording using game bar again. I also have to leave the settings open on that page or it will gray out again in game bar. I record just fine when it is working but its ridiculous that I have to go an extra mile just to get it to work.

    I have tried the typical methods of repairing the app, signing out and back in, deleting the app and redownloading and logging in. Maybe something I need to format? I don't know. Its attached to a normal hard drive to save the captures to.

    Game Bar Problems

    • Check Game Bar’s settings. Press the Start button , then choose Settings. Go to Gaming > Game bar, then turn on Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar.
    When it says turn on Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar. It won't save when I go to a new setting tab then back it changes it back off

    To disable Game Bar:

    1. Right-click the Start button.
    2. Click Settings.
    3. Click Game Bar
    4. Click the switch below Record game clips. Screenshots, and broadcast using Game Bar so that it turns Off.

    I have same issue, "Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar" option keep turning off for me. Were you able to fix this issue? Also set registry setting AppCaptureEnabled to 1 but after reboot it turn back to 0. This
    troubleshooting article couldn't help in this issue.
