    My Frustration with Sea of Thieves: An Unjust Ban


    I am opening this discussion today to share my frustration and disappointment with the ban placed on my main account on Sea of Thieves two years ago. As an avid player of the game for years, I have always played fairly and followed the game's code of conduct. However, despite my sincere efforts, I was banned from the game on my main account for something I did not do.

    According to the support, I was permanently banned for evading a ban.

    What doesn’t make sense about their claim is that the temp ban(which they claim I evaded) on my main account was placed months before the alt account was even created, and I did not play on my main account during the ban period. I was shocked to receive the ban notification and tried to contact Sea of Thieves for clarification, but to no avail. The company has not provided any concrete information or explanation regarding the ban, leaving me with no closure or understanding of what led to the ban.

    What is even more disheartening is that I was below the age of 16 at the time the ban was placed on my account. As a young player, I may not have fully understood the consequences of my actions, and I deeply regret any actions that may have led to the ban. However, I want to emphasize that I did not engage in any wrongdoing that led to the ban, and I have never violated the game's code of conduct knowingly or intentionally.

    As if this was not frustrating enough, support has not been able to provide me with actual answers, only automated responses. I was told that the ban would be lifted, but it has not been lifted. This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience for me, as Sea of Thieves has been a huge part of my life for years.

    I am writing in this discussion today to express my sincere regret and to request the lifting of the ban on my account. I hope that Sea of Thieves will consider my request to lift the ban and provide me with the answers and solutions that I have been seeking for the past two years. I have attached proof of the ban and the support response to this blog post for your reference.

    In conclusion, I would like to say that Sea of Thieves has been a huge part of my life for years, and I love the game dearly. I hope that the company will take into consideration my request and lift the ban on my account. I look forward to hearing back from the company and to continue playing the game that I love.

    My Frustration with Sea of Thieves: An Unjust Ban

    Since the ban is game specific, you should be reaching out to the game developers for your issues. The ban comes from the Rare side of things and not Microsoft's. Microsoft is just the publisher and not the developer that runs the game.

    Are you banned only in Sea of Thieves or other online games to? If its only Sea of Thieves then its a game ban not a Xbox ban,

    Rare are the developers of Sea of Thieves. If you received an in-game ban, then they have banned you.

    After uninstalling and reinstalling Sea of Thieves and the Xbox Game Bar many times, I am able to invite and accept invites on Sea of Thieves Insider through the Game Bar. I am able to send invites from the Game Bar for Sea of Thieves. However, when I receive an invite or try to join in on Sea of Thieves, I still have the same problem. Sea of Thieves and Sea of Thieves Insider are two different builds. There must be a file somewhere on my computer that is not being deleted or uninstalled and it's not allowing me to accept these invites on just Sea of Thieves. I don't know how to find this file.
