My friend is permanently muted. How do I fix?

Can you tell if your friend has received any Enforcement bans or suspensions that might prevent them from joining parties?

You mention that you restarted the console and also did a reset, if that didn't fix it then the issue could be on his side.

if I try to talk to my friends they cant hear me as if my mic is permanently muted when I try to mute or unmute no light shows sometimes my friends can hear me but then it goes again. I looked up this problem to fix it but apparently that if the mic is muted
when the xbox turns off then it brakes. if anyone has a tip to stop this contact me on xbox one .

Are you on a console that is in the preview program? If so, be sure to report the bug through the console.

Also be aware, there is currently an
active service alert about party issues.

Once the alert is resolved, see if the issue clears up.

Maybe MS is testing a new type of permanent punishment of forever mute for comms violation?
