My friend got banned.

Okay.

So...

My friend is claiming that they got banned from a message that I sent to them.

They didn't reply. They didn't even have time to read it at the time.

They got communication ban by enforcement.

Can someone confirm this kind of thing is possible?

Can you get banned for receiving a message?

Mean while, the sender, which is me, did not get any kind of punishment, warning or notification about it.

To me, this sounds wrong. You should not be able to be banned for receiving a message.

Hi, usually the enforcement website shows details or what caused the suspension when you click on “show/view details”

Ask your friend to check that, and if necessary check this article

Probably was a weird coincidence.
Enforcement actions are issued only for the activity that your friend does.

If they’re able to do it, please ask your friend to submit a case review here:

We are unable to comment on any Enforcement actions taken against accounts or consoles. If you have an active account suspension or a permanent suspension from within the last 12 months, you can submit a Case
Review to the Policy Enforcement team. Your friend can submit one to see if they can look into the situation further.

Hmm-m. Fair enough.
I've conveyed that message and link to them.

Is it possible an enforcer had a grudge against my friend? And just used a slightest excuse to slam them with a ban, even if it was just a received message?

Basically abusing the ban powers.

Is that kind of thing possible even in theory?

Got to reply one more thing about this...

My friend tried to submit a case review, but it didn't allow them to.

The ban is already over. But would be nice to know what caused it.

They say there was no option to submit review.

If you take suggestions, then... You could have a system that implements more specific information about what you have done wrong.
