My experience with Halo Official Release on Brazil

Hello, yesterday we had the event here in Brazil too...and it was awfull... i wrote an e-mail to send to Microsoft/Halo/Xbox teams.

I will share it with you guys (it was told me to on the chat):

" Dear Microsoft/Halo/Xbox, I'm sending this e-mail to all of you, hoping that at least one of you read.

First of all, english is not my native language, so sorry about any mistakes...i'm doing my best.

I'm Brazilian, and yesterday i went to the Halo 5 Official Release, and i'm reaaly upset and mad about it.

It was the worst event i ever participated (and believe, i went to a lot of bad events ), but this e-mail is not only to complain, i want you guys to know

who represents you in Brazil, how the event worked, and how it made me give up about buying the Xbox one =/

The event was supposed to start this monday at 9pm, some people with the Xbox microphone were recording somthing at this time, i don't know what.. i was by their side but couldn't listen a word, they we're talking only to the camera and microphone, things didn't
change until 22:30pm, when one guy talked to the crowd "We're really happy that you guys are here, this is only happening because of you and we want to give you some gifts, we will make groups of 4 players to play the game, the best on the round will get one
T-shirt, and everyone will receive a papercraft , who buys the game now, will get on t-shirt too...LET'S PLAY!" and then he only turned around and started to tace pictures with some other staffs, and ignored us...JUST IGNORED US for 15 minutes...should i remember
that there was not a multiplayer allowed until midnight? Yeah...they didn't even know that... So they just terned on the 4 consoles on the campaign...one controller was broken, so actually only 3 people played the campaign.... for 3 minutes.... yes, 180 seconds....
and it was just a line, when the 3 minutes were over you should pause the game, then the next one should keep on playing from there... some people started the game dying, some started on the cutscene, some (like me) started in a place where i had no idea what
should be done, and when i found the first enemy my time was over, a lot of people just didn't played.

But the best player in the party would get a T-shirt right? Now tell me how do you know the best player in a 3 minutes of campaign play? The staffs were looking for the score in the screen ( you can see that they really knew the game), so they decided it by
"jan ken" (is that the name?)... any way, i won the t-shirt (Master Chief OR Loki model) , so it's one good thing at last ... but there were only two sizes of shirts ( like... M and L i guess, here we have different sizes from there), so i didn't get a t-shirt
i could use... so i told to my friend to choose one to him, so he asked for the Master Chief one.... and one more time the staff didn't knew who was Master Chief (what this staff was doing there???).

So i got my papercraft (that have intructions to print it, so i guess they took it into the internet), i tried to talk with some staff to ask a few things, no one answered me, so i came home (it was already 11:30 pm), when i got my papercraft out of my bag,
it was messed up whit my backpack paint (problems with the quality of the paper).

Summing up, i spent 3 hours and a half (i got in there one hour before the event started),i was standing for the whole time ( i used google translator in this part... i mean there was no place to sit), to NOT play the game, don't get anything, and don't even
talk with a staff about anything... they were to worried with pictures and videos...

Now let me talk about me and halo... I don't have a video game since playstation one (let's say that was because some "Rules" at home), but i usually play

in my friends house, and a few years ago i played Halo Reach, i felt in love with the game, i really wanted to buy the Xbox just to play it, but since i couldn't

I went to my friends house almost everyday, to play with them, even payed for Gold (whitout having the video game), and same thing on halo 4... i played it always i could, now i moved from my Grandparent's house, so i was thinking about finally buying the Xbox
One and play halo 5 by myself, don't have to disturb any friend (and it was the only chance, since you took off the splitscreen), i was saving my money to buy it ( you know...Brazil is a complicated place to buy video-games because of taxes...and well, i'm
not rich, and i just moved to a new apartment, so i really don't have much money to spend with games, or anything at all... but i was saving to buy it), but after today...

I fell like i was betrayed you know?

For sure you are not responsible for the event, but i just felt i was a sidekick on the event, someone to appear on the pictures, so they can say "The event was amazing",

I couldn't play, the staffs didn't have a Idea of what was happening, didn't get even a souvennir (my lost paper craft i cand print new ones..maybe even better).

The event wasn't for the fans, but for the staffs....if i knew that i wouldn't go there, i would just stay at home, and wait until next year to finally buy my Xbox...

I thought that they could raffle (google translator again) a game, i would be very happy just to have a chance to win the game (i would be happy to PARTICIPATE, not only in winning), i even dreamed that maybe they would raffle a Xbox

(they did that on halo 4), or even a controller (it's pretty hard to find them in Brazil), that would make me want to buy the video game even more....

But when a companie upset me like it was today... i just cant buy anything else...

i know i'm just ONE player and don't make a difference in your ballance... but it's one player that you won't have anymore. Sorry about that

Xbox One - 2015 Release Schedule

Needs updating again as Halo 5 now has an official release date of 27th October.

 

Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition pre-order counts towards star boost?

The 21th is the official release date for Halo Wars 2 Standard Edition; the official release date for Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition is the 17th. You can buy (not pre-order) both Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition and the preorder version of it in the store now.
So, it's mighty confusing. But to be on the safe side I'd better buy the game on the 21th. What a mess!

 

The event was really awful and disorganized, but I doubt that Microsoft is committed to really approach the brazilian xbox gamers. Apparently in Brazil there is no such thing as a Community Manager and a community at all.

I was at the launch events of Halo 4, Gears of War Ultimate Edition, and in that Halo 5 launch event, and it's very noticeable that they aren't doing that events for fans and consumers, but for themselves. Then wonder why the Xbox and Halo community does
not grow in Brazil. Its a shame to live here and be a gamer, as you do a hard work to buy games and they dont even release it's collector edition here. Xbox Brazil was good in the past, in the Halo Reach times...
