    We suspect her work email firewall is rejecting the message. How do we get around this. Tearful 11 yr old cannot get into his gaming profile or use his XBOX live pass until we set him up again. The phone number stored is also defunct, any ideas as to alternative verification? Help please!!

    Hi folks

    I have a somewhat similar issue.

    My Daughter (11) uses her mothers (my ex) microsoft account to sign into various games like minecraft on her ipad.

    So I bought an xbox for christmas a couple of years ago (it was for the kids i swear) and not having a microsoft account of my own, we signed in using my ex’s account so the kids could get playing asap.

    Things are very amicable between us so she doesn’t mind us using the account to which i have full access, but its still her main email and onedrive account and I would just prefer if we had seperate accounts.

    So my question is, if i join “her” microsoft family as an adult with my own microsoft email and then delete her from it, will all of our purchases remain within that family with me as the new main account holder/adult?

    wrong game format - how to resolve?

    It is not necessary for her to have an Xbox. If the code was used on her account, you just need to use the email and password to log into Xbox and put her account as home.

    When I signed up for an Xbox account many years ago for my son, I used my wife's yahoo email address for the Microsoft account and it also uses her Microsoft password. She would prefer that her Microsoft account is not used for Xbox and therefore neither
    is her yahoo email and Microsoft password.

    Whatever accomplishes this end will do!

    Thanks for offering to help as troubleshooting this on our own has proven more difficult than expected.

    I think i may have solved it i had to make anew account for her using an outlook address and seemed to work so far as her gamertag shows up on my microsoft family and i can change settings. Once i have got her to sign in via her android tablet using smartglass
    i will update you.
