My elite series 2 controller won't charge or turn on even when plugged in

Hi Coty, my name is Oskayra Independent consultant and gamer like you.

I understand that the same thing has already happened to me, use the charger of a cell phone that pulls more current and leave it connected for about 3 hours. it should turn itself on no matter if it does not charge, leave it connected. that happens when you let it discharge too much to the point of turning itself off. For the next one try not to let it happen again because you deteriorate the battery faster.

My Elite version 2 controller has never disconnected but the internal battery will NOT charge. It is a brick unless it is plugged in with the USB wire or sitting on the charging dock. when plugged in or on charging dock the white LED light blinks but never
goes to a solid light even after 10 hours sitting on the charge dock. I've never seen the LED light go to color "amber" to signify it has a low battery. 180$ for a wired controller less than 8 months old.

I contacted support they told me it would bee 100$ to REPAIR!! because my 90 day warranty was up lol. 90 days for a controller they say "should last a lifetime".....

oh and option #2 they sent me a link to buy an Xbox "play and charge kit" ...lol for an Elite Series 2. The Elite Series 2 that has an INTERNAL BATTERY!

I am beyond pissed off and I get everyone's frustrations on this thread. This is all after going through 4 series 1 elite controllers.

To me it's absolutely UNACCEPTABLE that Microsoft wont at the least repair these controllers that are defective. Not broken but defective. And I mean repair for free or shipping charge ONLY.

I u understand that the Series X controller will be using a USB C connector to charge the battery (same as the Elite 2 controller), so charging stations that use micro USB won't work.

A charging dock is included with the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. Plug the USB-C cable into the back of the dock and then plug the other end into your console or PC. Once the dock is connected, gently place the controller onto it to begin charging.

Have you tried that?

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your Elite Series 2 controller. Based on the information you provided, it seems like there may be a hardware issue with the controller itself. Since you have a protection plan and plan to replace it, that would be the best course of action to take.

Either the battery itself has failed or the internal charging circuitry. If this is the case, it won't matter how long you leave your controller plugged in, it will never charge.
