My daughter can't create or join group chats with her friends on the Xbox App.

We understand that you are trying to allow your daughter to join and create group chats on her Microsoft account profile. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

To ensure your child can join and create group chats it is required for them to be added in a Microsoft Family. Where you as the parent/guardian can manage their accounts for them to be monitored on what they are streaming, playing and paying. On Xbox settings, you will have to visit Xbox account settings for Privacy so you can manage her profile.



1. Sign into your Microsoft account and go to the Xbox Family Settings page. Link: Xbox Account | Settings

2. Select your daughter's gamertag.

3. Under the "Privacy & online safety" section, select "Xbox Live privacy."

4. Under the "Communication & multiplayer" section, make sure that "You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text" is set to "Allow."

5. Make sure that "You can join multiplayer games" is also set to "Allow."

6. Save your changes.
