Based on the description, you are unable to play online multiplayer with the game. Let us check and see on what we can do to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.

If we may ask, are you able to play other online multiplayer game aside from Xenoverse 2? If you can play online multiplayer with other games, then the issue is game specific and we need further assistance from the game developer support team. If you cannot play any online multiplayer games then the issue is related to your Network Address Translation type or (NAT) type and online safety and privacy settings. If you are using a child account, the settings can only be changed by the parent or organizer under Xbox Family settings app.

Here are the steps on how to check NAT type and change online safety and privacy settings.

To check your current NAT type, do this:

• Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  
• Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.
  
• Under Current Network Status, the NAT Type field displays your current NAT type.
  

You need your NAT type to be Open to resolve this issue. If you are getting errors like Double NAT detected or UPnP not successful displayed, let us know.

To check online safety and privacy settings, follow the steps below:

• Log in to https://account.xbox.com/settings with the parent’s Microsoft account if your account is child account. If account is an adult, sign in your personal Microsoft account and skip the next step.
  
• Click the child account's profile.
  
• In the navigation tabs, click Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety
  
• Select Allow for You can create and join clubs, and You can join multiplayer games.
  
• Then click Submit.
  

To enable chat for people not on the child's friends list:

In the table header:

1. Click Privacy
   
2. Select Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites.
   
3. Select Friends or Everyone then click submit
   

To enable adding and removing friends

1. Log in to https://account.xbox.com/settings with the parent’s Microsoft account.
   
2. Click the child account's profile.
   
3. In the navigation tabs click Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety
   
4. Select Allow for You can add friends
   
5. Press Submit

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with your Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 game being stuck on version 1.0.0.42 and not updating to version 1.20. I'm here to help you with that.

Before we proceed, I will be asking you few questions to help us understand the issue further:

• May I know what is the device you are using to launch this game?
  
• If we are using windows, can you please tell me the app you use to launch this game?
  
• When was the date you start updating this game?
  

In the meantime, I would like to ask if you have tried restarting your console and checking for updates again? If not, please try doing so as it may help in resolving the issue.



If the issue persists, assuming that we are on Xbox console, you can try clearing the cache on your console. Here are the steps to do so:



1. Press and hold the power button on your console until it turns off completely.

2. Unplug the power cable from the back of the console.

3. Wait for at least 10 seconds before plugging the power cable back in.

4. Turn on your console and check for updates again.

Note: Clearing the cache on your Xbox console will not delete your game saves or data files. Clearing the cache will only remove temporary files that are stored on your console, such as updates and system notifications. Your game saves and data files are stored separately on your console's hard drive or in the cloud, and will not be affected by clearing the cache. However, it's always a good idea to back up your game saves and data files regularly to avoid losing any important progress or information.



If the issue still persists, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Here are the steps to do so:



1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

2. Select My games & apps.

3. Highlight the game you want to uninstall and press the Menu button on your controller.

4. Select Uninstall.

5. Once the game is uninstalled, go to the Microsoft Store and reinstall the game.

Hi Mae, I have the exact same issue as above mentioned and I have tried both ways to solve the issue that you have mentioned. I am on xbox series s and have a full xbox live membership, and I have completed the story mode, yet I still don't have online multiplayer access and I suspect the game version is the reason for this.
