    My cooling fan and external SSD won't turn off when plugged into the rear USB sockets on...


    Anyone have any ideas how to get my cooling fan and external SSD to turn off when I turn off my Xbox One.

    I've tried it in both modes on the power options and also unticking the turn off storage tick box..

    Any ideas??

    Xbox turns on then turns off. Tried resetting 4 times now the fan is loud

    I do not have an external hard drive plugged into it. I also tried plugging it into a different wall socket. Same thing happens, fan goes super loud and Xbox only turns on for a second then turns off

    Xbox 360 usb ports live all the time even when Xbox 360 is off?

    The USB ports should not be live if the console is off. AFAIK, the 360 does not have an instant on feature so that would mean there is no power to the components.
    weird my passport drive is running when plugged into the 360's usb with the 360 powered off.

    should my passport external usb drive come on when plugged in to rear usb port on the Xbox 360S?

    The comments/ replies I am reading are asking how it is plugged in etc.

    Are they just clutching at straws trying to mute the complaints or could this genuinely be a problem?

    My whole TV set up is plugged in to a 4 bank extension with power surge protection (this is because the plug sockets are no where near where I have placed my unit etc.

    Also the rear USB ports are giving power as my External HDD does light up when plugged in, and I use a lead to power my controller instead of eating batteries, this does work, just the HDD isn’t recognised when using the rear ports

    Hopefully this can be an easy fix otherwise after spending such a large amount and now the current stock shortages
