My controller wont work anymore after trying to get bluetooth

Firstly I would like to say what I was trying to do was use Bluetooth instead of a cable to play games so I didn't need a cable to play games (my PC does not have Bluetooth). Before I did anything cables worked fine no issues besides old cables not working etc. I ordered an XDO Bluetooth emulator/ adapter device the model is the BT531, after ordering I read the instructions and did what I needed to do then I placed the USB in and loaded up Fortnite to test it out after loading that up nothing worked the controller didn't do anything and I set up the new device in Bluetooth settings so I said screw it let me just keep playing with a cable and get a brand new nice one after I plugged it in it doesn't work anymore, I tried to put it in other USB ports and it still did not work, I tried 5 different wires and it only showed that it was charging my controller (PS4 controller) so now I'm left confused and I tried other games and still nothing works can somebody please help thanks.

I have restarted my PC multiple times, I have taken the USB out and restarted and I have booted my PC up with a controller connected and nothing works I have also tried downloading input mapper as I saw that I might need it in a youtube video and I have the newest drivers for the adapter

It is still not working, i followed the steps and It still just charges the controller and doesn't connect it to my PC

1. Locate the reset button on the back of the controller. It’s near the L2 button, within a hole.
2. Use a small item like a pin to push the button inside the hole.
3. Press and hold the button for about seven seconds.

The controller is wireless, the headset is wireless- bluetooth. The headset has worked fine for almost two years, but after the update yesterday to call of duty it does not work anymore.

my bad, it wont work with a cable, it use to for ps3 and ps4 controllers, it has to connect via Bluetooth on pc now.

it wont work via bluetooth as the controller does not pass audio vie bluetooth.

wired then it technically should pic the headset up as a usb audio device. i normally use either a turtlebeach 3.5mm headset or my mobile phone headset.

not sure why it wont work over usb though.
