My controller won't connect and after update won't even turn on

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to deal with this issue. I can totally understand how this could be pretty discouraging but if the steps

here have failed to resolve the issue, the only option left would be to get it replaced.

I have the same problem. After timing out the controller won't connect. It turns off when I turn off the console so it is connected somehow but it just blinks and won't connect right

I'm having this same problem after I updated my controller, now it won't sync or if it is it won't do anything, not even when I plug it in with a micro usb

Have you found any solutions to this?? I had the exact same issue. After attempting an update, it failed half way, and froze the system. Now it will not power up at all, and doesnt register on my PC as even being an xbox controller. Tech support was absolutely
useless, and said it just needs replaced. But I was literally playing on it this morning with no issues until I decided to update the damn thing.

And my GF just put a new skin on it for my birthday literally last week :-(

After the Anniversary Update, both my wireless dongle and Xbox One controller (both OEM) appear to be broken.

The dongle doesn't show up in Device manager, despite switching to different USB ports.

The gamepad now won't stay turned on, even connected via USB. Isn't detected in the "Xbox Accessories" app.
