My controller turns on but immediately powers off.

I don't like to give bad news but everything points to be a hardware issue.
But we can try to isolate to isolate the problem even more.
For this, tell me:

A. Did you tried using a completely different USB cable?
B. If yes to the above, did you tried connecting the controller to a different device? (PC, other Xbox)
C. Did you tried using a brand new batteries?

Update: Sometimes when I say Xbox On, the system turns on, and then immediately shuts off and when i try to turn on with my controller, it wont work. I have to power it from the console itself...weird?

After much experiment it turns out my Xbox isn't responding to any of my controllers and I tested them on a different Xbox and it still work. My wireless controller can turn the Xbox on but the controller immediately turns itself off in seconds dispite being full charged or even with new battery.

Edit- I managed to fix the problem, had to turn off xbox and unplug power cable for a good bit. Thank for your support.

Tried those ideas. The issue is, it turns the receiver on and then off immediately, once its on all the volume controls work and it will also power off fine. If I uncheck the turn receiver off box in settings, it turns on the receiver without turning it
off again, but then it will not power it off. Very strange. My model number is ONKYO TX-SV414PRO, but it only lists the non pro model. I think it's an issue with connect sending out a double blast at startup.

When I get into the troubleshoot menu my xbox immediately turns off I dont even have a chance to turn on my controller
