My controller shows that it has a headset connected to it and i dont know how to make it stop

It appears that you are having a hardware issue with your controller after it has fallen and since the jack has snapped off inside of the controller that might affect the functionality of the controller and it might be the reason why the headset functionality is affected as well. My paddles are in good condition yes as far as I can see. There are no bends or breaks or anything, I don't smash my controller or anything so I wanted to know if I should buy a new controller or just new paddles. Also with my headset, this is the first time this has happened to me ever and I dont know if its the controller or the headset. The cord looks perfectly fine on the headset, and I dont have another headset or controller to connect to see what the problem is because I gave my extra headset and controller to a friend. I wanted to try to figure this out quickly as I want to buy the new xbox series x but want to know if I should also put another controller in my cart as well.

This setting doesn't exist - if you could show me screenshots of what you see that would be helpful but I see nowhere where there is an 'audio' setting in the menu.

Also - can connect controller to PC but don't know how to route audio through the controller.

I can use the headset with my phone just fine - can use it to make calls perfectly, the headset is not the problem.

The manual for the Cool 2000 headset shows that you will need to connect both the USB to the Xbox One, AND using the "Y" Splitter cable, connect the headset to the controller. If you have the older (Original) Xbox One controller then you will need the headset
adapter.

I use a turtle beach headset audio controller since my headset port broke but i dont know what my headset model is i can try and find out and i also restarted my xbox nothing has changed ive had my xbox running for hours should turn it off for a couple
hours and see if it makes a difference
