My controller on Windows 10 keeps spasm'ing out of game

I have exactly the same problem as this person: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...g-out-of/d7f47296-bcb5-48e2-a866-e97b58d05e54 and I also have recordings of it.

The controller is OFF in both clips.

The inputs are different every time this problem occurs, and the problem won't dissapear until I restart my computer. The problem will however return with different inputs being spammed as soon as I try to connect my controller again.

The inputs are controlling windows and only windows and other microsoft software, no inputs are detected in any game or third party software.

Some info about systems and apps.

I am on windows 10, I recently reset this PC but the problem appeared before the reset. My controller is the Xbox Wireless Controller for the Xbox Series X, I already have the latest update from the Xbox Accessories app. After this problem occurs the controller disconnects and has trouble reconnecting, if it reconnects it will only stay connected for about 15 seconds but has been up to 60 seconds. After that time it will blink in a heartbeat pattern not being able to connect even if it is connected via cable, sometimes it turns off while connected via cable randomly. If the controller happens to reconnect the input spam does not dissapear, it stays.

I have had this controller for over a year and this is the first time something like this has happened, I usually play witch a USB-C cable connected to a USB 3.0 port. I have barely anything downloaded on my PC right now because of the recent reset, I have discord, steam and xbox installed along with 3 games. Unlike the other person who had or is having this problem I do not play rocket league, so this is probably not caused by a game. I do not know if it was a Windows update that caused this but I doubt it because the other person who had this problem experienced this over a year ago. Because of recent reset I do not have many third party apps so I have tried turning them all off without avail. Tirning off the firewall and internet connection did nothing unfortunately. I do not own a console and I have never connected the controller to a console before. The input spasm from the controller continues when it is not connected, connecting it with a cable or wirelessly results the same.

We're sorry to hear that you are having issues with the controller while it is connected to a computer. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

There's a possibility that the controller needs update otherwise the controller is faulty. By the way, we appreciate you have captured a video for us to see the issue however, would you mind sharing the videos in the public? This is for other readers that may experience the same issue can relate here. To better isolate your issue, we will ask for few questions:

Are you using Xbox Controller? Or may we know what controller you are using?
Is the Windows PC and Xbox apps(Xbox app/Xbox Console Companion, Xbox accessories, Xbox Game Bar, Gaming Services) up-to-date?
Do you have any third party apps (that is related on how Xbox Controller works on PC) any antivirus, antimalware, VPN, firewall and PC Optimizer. Please disable or turn it off and test it.
Is the controller updated on Xbox accessories?

1. My controller is a standard controller which came with the Console.
2. Yes.
3. I have tried and I have VPN and Antivirus, both being turned off shows no difference.
4. Yes, it is.

My issue is that it will only mess up whenever I use it on a Controller-Friendly game, such as Rocket League. But through tests, RL is not the issue.

Would you mind confirming few things, may we know what version of Windows you are in (10/11)?

Has this been working before? Was there a Windows update or newly installed apps that caused the issue?

Would you mind checking what's your Xbox Controller version?

What type of Console are you using (like Xbox 360, Xbox One)?

Thanks for stating your observation in the behavior of the controller. Is the controller connected wirelessly? If yes, please check if issue reoccur in wired connection because if it does then the controller might be faulty.

Note If you’ve updated your controller with the latest firmware version (5.11.3118), you may experience problems configuring the controller with the Accessories app on a Windows device. We are aware of this issue and our engineering team is currently working on a fix. In the meantime, you can still configure your controller using the Accessories app on your Xbox console. The controller’s updated settings will then carry over when you connect it to a Windows device.

Let's check this out. Officially, there is this nifty support guide for setting up the Xbox 360 controller for a PC:

Now, if you read the top of that guide, there's a note that this controller will definitely work for the Windows 10, so there are no worries there. There's a section specifically for

setting up the controller for Windows 10. Windows 10 automatically downloads the necessary drivers. With that in mind, are you sure that the drivers aren't already installed? Have you tested this controller out in any games?
