my controller makes my character go up when i move left

My controller is not working correctly. After a few seconds the character on the screen start moving by himself forwards. Or in the menu screen start going up in the selections. No movement in the left thumbstick and still the character is moving.

I’m not doubting you but i’m pretty sure controller drift is when it moves without touching it. The problem with mine is that when i move it up it takes a while to move my character or the cursor fully.

Atm Im playing Left 4 Dead 2. It’s kinda hard to notice the issue on this game but most of the time I can see my character stop then moves straight after. It seems to have like 1 seconds delay.

Yesterday when I was playing rocket league. I was using the same controller with the issue. My friend was using another controller. His controller sometimes randomly jumps but he changed to another controller and it was fine after. My controllers left analog sometimes wouldn’t front flip because it could be the sensor messing up

Have you tried to use the Xbox Accessories thumbstick recalibration tool?

To open the Xbox Accessories app on your console, press the Xbox button to open the guide, then under Profile & system, select Settings > Devices & connections > Controllers & headsets.

Before you recalibrate your controller, check to see if there’s a firmware update available for your controller. If there is, update your controller before you recalibrate.

Select Recalibration options.

Select the specific thumbstick you want to recalibrate (left or right).

Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the recalibration.

I figured out what is making this happen. When ever my controller disconnects and the left stick is being moved at the same time the left stick gets locked even when it is unplugged. I don't know if this helps with my issue but it is just how it happens.
