My controller is linked to my One X, but it won't allow the console to auto start?

Hard to believe I've been using Xbox consoles since 2001, and EVERY generation has allowed auto start (when using a controller). Taking the plunge to One X - despite my One S working perfectly, including auto start! - and now it seemingly doesn't want to
acknowledge there's a console attached! What gives?

I've set my account options to "instant sign-in" (and linked my controller), so why are the only default options Turn Off Console or Turn Off Controller? If I turn off the console, my controller remains active. If I turn off the controller, the console remains
active (until its designated shutdown time). What actions haven't I performed, or is this the "new weird" introduction to Xbox?

Even though it's know, make sure to log it in the "report a bug" feature as well. This helps the Insider team a lot.

That seems to be a known issue of last update, in the next should be fixed. Im under beta preview ring and now its fixed, so should be on the next public update.

Oh, if it's a known issue, then surely there's hope that it's just a minor inconvenience. In respect of pairing it to my account, that's precisely what I've done. It's assigned to me personally and there's nothing else I can do but reconfigure it (to another
user?). No point in doing that! Thanks for the replies.

Pair Controller to Account to your console, have you tried assigning it to your actual account? Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

I have the same problem the only fix is keep xbox one console on energy saving mode I have Xbox one x that great they going to fix this annoying software bug
