My controller bricked after an update

I was updating my Xbox one controller (which I've had no problem with since I got it in 2014) and the update failed at 46% and now the controller just flashes I tried all the methods of hard reset re-sync and all of that but none work the serial number is also rubbed off. What should i do?

This is unacceptable. MS SHOULD BE REFUNDING OUR MONEY AS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED.

is there no way to restart the controller without it getting replaced its not under warranty anymore as you could imagine

Another victim here. Received my brand new Elite controller today, bricked after the update from xbox accessories app.

It may have been windows 10 anniversary update drivers that caused issue. Anyone here is facing the same brick issue without the anniversary update on their windows 10?
