I wouldn't buy MCC on a disc. The disc only pre-loads the first 45GB. You still have a 15GB to download.

If you borrow/rent the disc, install, then purchase it digitally, the disc install doesn't have to be deleted. The digital license will take over and you won't need the disc in the console any longer.

the All-Digital part just means it doesn't have a disc drive so all games have to be installed digitally. Consoles with disc drives still install games digitally. As an example, I have 2 consoles with disc drives yet I install almost all my games from the Store, not from disc

That won't work. The disc is required to be in the disc drive to prove you own the game. Since the Series S doesn't have a disc drive, that wouldn't be possible and you can only use digital games on that console.
