    My changed gamertag does not appear in any Microsoft/Xbox services


    A few weeks ago I changed my xbox gamertag using a browser. Since then, it has not changed on ANY microsoft services, Xbox powered applications on PC, looking at my account info through a browser, etc. But when I attempt to change it again through a browser, the gamertag listed as "current" is what I had changed it to. I have no idea what is hapenning or how to fix it.

    As from this year,if a gamertag does not sign in from any Microsoft services for 2 years it is then freed up & made available so the earliest any unused gamertag would be available is 2021.

    The only other way would be for the person with the tag you want was to change their gamertag to something else.

    Those are the only ways you could get the gamertag you are after.

    Gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live,so just because the tag hasn't been on xbox live does not mean it is not in use.

    I have called 5 times (its true). And nobody in xbox assistant service, has been able to fix this problem.

    In fact, some people in Xbox service doesn't understand the difference to change the email associated at WLID, and change the WLID associated at my gamertag!

    They have gave me 1000 microsoft points for this problem. XDD. It's true, i swear.

    But I continous with the same problem.

    Thank you in advance.

    I have looking for this problem in google. And in any web appears doesn't appear the solution.

    Wrong.If the gamertag does not sign in for 5 years it may be freed up or if the Microsoft account linked to a gamertag does not sign in to any Microsoft services for 2 years it may be freed up.

    There is no way to know if a gamertag is inactive or not as gamertags are used on other Microsoft services,not just Xbox live..

    Just because a tag has no friends,gamerscore etc. does not mean it isn't in use.
