    My captures won’t upload and I can’t delete anything.


    My captures won’t upload and I can’t delete any captures. I try to upload my captures it says they’ve been uploaded and I get the notifications on my Xbox and the Xbox app but when I open it it just says ‘something went wrong’ and they haven’t actually been uploaded. I’ve been all through my settings restarted my console etc nothings working. I thought I might not have enough space so I went all through my old captures deleted loads it said they had been deleted but when I open captures again on my Xbox or my phone they appear again and haven’t been deleted. (This is happening for captures both on my Xbox and on the Xbox network). I’ve tested this with my friend on his account on his Xbox and it’s doing the same thing not uploading captures. So I figured this must be a Microsoft issue.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

    Just a friendly reminder though that there are multiple reports in regards to the same issue today, Freya. It can be an intermittent issue only however, there are no official announcements yet from Microsoft so we just need to perform troubleshooting steps such as extended powercycle and resetting the network hardware by following the steps below:

    "1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

    2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

    3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

    4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state."

    Nice to meet you! I'm Darhyl, a fellow gamer. I'm sorry you are experiencing this. I am here to help.

    If I may ask, are you trying to upload or delete captures via Xbox console or via Xbox app?

    Also, may I know when was the last time you attempted to upload and delete captures?

    Kindly give it 24 hours to have it sync in the Xbox Live server, however, if it doesn't work, please perform a power cycle before deleting them again.

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

    Make sure that you're deleting them from the "Xbox Network"

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    2. Go to Capture & share, and then select Recent captures > Show all.

    3. Select On the Xbox network in the first dropdown box.

    4. Select the clip you want to delete.

    5. Press the A button, and then select Delete.

    Please take your time and let me know if it works.

    My Xbox Series S captures will not delete

    I did as written and it deleted only a few clips. Everything else is back to the way it was before. I had 117 and now I have 101, but I deleted all of them. I’m not sure what else can be done as the captures will not go away.

    Edit: I just noticed it deleted all my captures from the console, despite not telling it to. It won’t delete anything on live.
