    My brother has gotten my husband’s whole Xbox account banned trying to log in with the wrong password. Is there any way to recover it without having to factory reset the whole system? Please help.

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

    If your husband has access to his security proofs, he will be able to try signing into his Microsoft account via this link: Microsoft account | Home by trying his password. Then clicking onto forgot password to see his options for using a security proof method to log into his account.

    If your husband has forgotten his password, he will need to go through the password recovery form which can be found here: Account recovery form (live.com)

    Why can I not send or recieve messages through the Xbox App?

    Did this when I logged out of my account to have my husband log in with his account. He could send and receive from my xbox app, but when I logged back into my account, the problem was still there. That is why I was thinking this might be an account glitch.
