My activision account got unlinked over a month ago and have been actively trying to get it...

once an account is linked to the activision cod account it cannot be changed for 12 months, you can only unlink via your cod account over at activision as microsoft have no access and cannot even see this info.

activision made the account changes lock in for 12 months each time to stop abuse of the system.

once the 12 months has passed then you can unlink the xbox account from the cod account, activision support will not override this lockout period either, there is absolutely nothing microsoft can do in regards to the cod account linking.

just be warned, epic can be unlinked but only relinked to the same microsoft/xbox account, you cannot link to another account, they stopped this a few years ago.

activision can be unlinked and relinked with another account once per 12 months.

We understand that you are having trouble unlinking your Xbox account from your ACTi vison account due to an old email address being used. I'm sorry to hear that you have not received a response from Activision or Microsoft/Xbox support. I'll do my best to assist you with this issue.

I actually found an article from ACTi vision regarding with unlinking accounts for Xbox. It stated that, you may unlink your individual accounts from an Activision account once every 12 months. So, if you haven't done this in the past you should be able to do so.

Check the following of how you can do it:

1. Sign in your Activision account.
   
2. In the account linking section find the account you wish to unlink and select unlink.
   
   Note: Games with cross-progression store game progress on your Activision account, not your platform account. If you choose to link your platform account to another Activision account, your progress will not carry over. Your progress and content aren't lost. If you relink this platform account to the original Activision account, you can continue your progression and access your owned content.
   
3. Check the confirmation box and select continue.

I had this same problem and followed the instructions it still asked me to verify my old email while I was trying to unlink my Xbox. I had forgotten what email I used for my activation account so I used another email addresss to login and at some point that’ll my progress from the Xbox didn’t carry over to my pc. So I unlinked the activation account I linked and tried to unlink my Xbox using the instructions in this article and it still prompted sending a verification code to the email I no longer have access to.

ubisoft actually moved all my stuff from one of my old accounts to my new one ages ago via a support ticket, took about a week to sort.

you will find a lot of the companies are like this now

activision accounts can be unlinked once per year, but if you unlink and link to a different activision account then all microtransactions and saves and the lot are gone unless you relink back to the original activision account, but you then have to wait 12 months, more companies are doing it this way, even epic have now made it so you cannot change the link.

most of these games store your in game purchases, saves, online leaderboards etc on their own servers via your account and to stop fraud or getting round bans they lock in account linking.
