My Account Was Hacked – Need Help Replacing Security Info

Hello Microsoft Support Team,

My account was recently hacked, but I was able to recover it successfully. However, when I logged back in, I noticed that the hacker had changed the primary email address associated with the account. As a result, I'm currently unable to change it back.

When I tried to update the security information, I received the following message:
"For your protection, replacing your security info takes 30 days."

I am the rightful owner of this account and I would like to regain full control of it as soon as possible. Please help me remove the email address added by the hacker and allow me to update my security information immediately.

Did you go through the account recovery process before?

The restriction for 30 days is normal when accounts have just been recovered. The team who recover the account seem to block future updates to the security information for 30 days. However, no one should be able to change this information. Have you reset your password too?

My Microsoft account got hacked. The hacker was baiting me to get him verification codes of changing the security info of my account, then got raid of my account.

He deleted the original email of my account which is "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***" then somehow changed the account email to another one named
"*** Email address is removed for privacy ***" (These info is shown in first image, check attachments).
After doing so, he got raid of all my security stuff like verify phone number and email.He was clearly hacking my account. He literally deleted my original email of this account "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***", if he is not hacking this account, he has no need to do it...

I really need help!

You didnt actually give him the verification codes did you? If so this would've been what allowed everything else that happened afterwards to occur.

You're going to receive extra information when the recovery process ends after this 30 days?, basically it's a link to reset your password

Once you do it, you need to sign again with the account on your Xbox

Yes, user error hacked someone elses email account. I agree it was my lack of knowledge. Now, how secure is their policy again?

Anyway, emails and phones numbers are NOT needed for security. You can create a very securee policy for logging in and verifying without ANY personal info. But thats what it appears to be about. Personal info and no privacy.
