My account is underaged and I am unable to change the age.

mature players can join under 18's, it is really annoying too. also lying about the age when creating the account is grounds to a perma ban and if they need support at any point they then lose the account as Microsoft finds out the real age.

A minor is determined by your actual age setting you input for your account. It decides if you are a minor or not by this specific date stamp birthdate.

The only way to chsange this is to lie about your age in the setting of your Microsoft account not on your Xbox but in Microsoft website login.

I have not heard of any other way which you can change this but as Francia points out you can get added to an existing adult family member which passes you as being able to use their level of content the family member has set for use. Or they may set a benchmark limit on the content age you can play because they either dont want you to play in the big league with the abusive banter or they dont trust the content exposed to you.

If you are a minor and you actually are using adult content you will definately be playing with the big boys n girls and the the banter of swearing and chucking abuse at eachothers mistakes can burn your ears. Adult conversation is not children convesation too. Adult content is open forum language with no restriction to attitude either so be warned - it come with other things you wont be expected to acknowledge nor block. People say stuff that can be hurtful but most adults shrug it off due to it being ingame unexpected result - you may have killed your team and they want you to recognise your stupidity in 4 letter words forming large complex sentences in an highly abusive tone, that's their way of letting off steam where you created a bad result. We as adults get over this in seconds. But we also try to take on board the expense of learning not to kill our team next time round. Most children cant take this and run with it because they get hung up on the abuse part and confusion sets in to disrupt their mind of play or the suituation confuses their recognising the relevance of learning to be part of a team. This is the psychology lesson for young adults. Get over it and get on with it. Adults can be patient but that can be short term if the attitude is tired, drunk, half asleep, stoned, got the baby on feed for a quick break, adults fit Xbox into their busy lives whilst children saee it as a toy.

Do you realise this is not in your best interest as you cannot block adult joins if you have unlocked the accesss to allow your freedom to use all the servers. On the other hand do you know that mature players cannot join an age under 18 years.

Agree mostly but to this comment only where the under 18 can stop the adults joining. It comes down to the setup of access rights. Servers which have multiplayer bypass some of these rules proping the player field to be diverse but functiuonal. Really it just to fill server staging rooms easily with first come first serve but thewre are rules which are painfully stupid which stop players from creating diverse groups so what's the difference?. Problem is some game servers ignore age altogether and dump everyone in the same space.

Its not that we adults want to play with children, we dont most of the time and most of us set our own rules to kick children who insistently either fill a gap in the multiplayer space we are playing or their play is annoying of their thinking they are wanted. We dont want to play with them because they lack abilty to shrug off the pain of being told off. That's the simple fact adults are there to play, not to talk or make friends, just play, full stop.

If you're still a minor you will not be able to change it. You need to ask an adult to add you as a member via https://account.microsoft.com/family and once you're added as a member, the adult account will be needing to sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings to manage your settings so you can play Minecraft Java Multiplayer.

If you're underage and want to change the date of birth so that it coincides with your Xbox account you will need to provide proof of age via a credit card with your name. This is the only way to change the date of birth across all accounts.

If you are underage though please be aware that it is against the terms of use and code of conduct to try and circumvent the system by creating a new account with a false age.
