My account is getting closed even though i signed in last month and today

May I know if the email address associated with your Microsoft works as a backup or security email for another Microsoft account?
Besides that, may I know if the sender of the email is Microsoft? Could be that someone is trying to phising you

If the email is legit and the hint of the email address provided on it matches with the one that you logged in recently the system is not going to delete the account

Well apparently, I was charged on 6/14 for gold even though my card had no money on it (a card I no longer use), even though it's a month-to-month subscription (seems like it should've ended last month when the charge was declined, then converted to silver...)
I was able to keep using live until today when it was declined a second time. And now in order to un-suspend my account I have to pay 19.99 (this and last months) just to convert to silver (in August). I'm not paying anything when all I wanna do is convert
to silver....

Microsoft are greedy ***, and I'm switching to sony.

When was the last time that you had signed in to the old account? Xbox accounts that are inactive for a certain period of time get closed down and become inaccessible even if you can see the profile when looking it up.

If you're getting an error, "Account does not exist" when you try to sign in, then the account is effectively closed.

Unfortunately, once an account is closed, there is no way to recover said account. Microsoft also does not recycle email addresses once they are closed, so one cannot use the same account to sign up for a new one.

There's no way you can close an Xbox Live Profile as it will stay or link to your Microsoft Account Email forever unless it's moved to a different Microsoft Account Email. Closing an account literally can only be done by signing-in your Microsoft Account

that your email is linked to will also get affected.

When it comes to Xbox Live charges, there's a way to cancel this. One is to sign-in your Microsoft Account Email to
http://account.live.com > Services & Subscriptions. The other is to contact the Xbox Support via:
support.xbox.com/.../contact-us. For this one, asking for a refund for the charges that you've had may not be possible because it's our sole responsibility as consumers of how we manage
the services we have subscribed to. Like third party services like cable subscription, regardless if we use the service or not, we're still responsible on paying the bills that the said service may take from us.
