My account has been locked and I'm unable to unlock it

I have a second Microsoft account that I use. I was changing the skin of my Minecraft profile, which is linked to this Microsoft account (not this one, another one), so I was going from page to page a lot. I ended up getting a "too many requests" error. I thought using a VPN would solve the login problem, but that was a mistake. My account was locked, presumably for security reasons, because the IP address was changing too quickly with the VPN.

Now I can't unlock it. It says I can use a phone number, but when I try, it says I should try another verification method... but there isn't another method. I've tried everything, but there's not much I can do. Is there a way to unlock the account or at least see how long the lock will last? I don't want to lose it.

The error after trying to use a phone number to unlock the account just says "Try another verification method. That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method", but there's no other method provided. (I tried to attach a screenshot, but it fails to be uploaded for some reason).

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this! I understand that's frustrating, especially since you just wanted to change your Minecraft skin.

It looks like your account got locked due to the VPN triggering security measures, which can definitely be tricky to resolve. Usually, the phone number option should work, so I understand how upsetting it must be to get stuck in a loop with no other verification options.

I'm sorry to hear your Microsoft account has been locked, I just want to point that you request the unlock only with the account reinstatement form

No one at Microsoft support can unlock it for you without sending the form

Xbox accounts age can't be changed, only way the age of the account changes it's trough time, so depending on the age set at creation of the account, if it's according to the child age, when the child becomes an adult in that region the account will also become an adult account automatically

If an account has been locked, support can't unlock it, they don't have access for this, you should follow the process to unlock an account

I'm guessing that you can't add the account to a family because it's locked but if there's a different reason please share it
