My account has been displaying the wrong Gamertag in certain areas periodically.

My current XBL tag is "", but will occasionally display it as my old tag, "Eevee G" on certain areas of the Xbox system. My dashboard, my profile card etc. I've had this issue for a little over a month now since I changed it. Games have displayed
it correctly, but everywhere else on the Xbox experience has been inconsistent. As it stands right now, signing into the new PC/mobile apps don't show it correctly either,
see this example. I want to keep "", but is it possible to have some sort of a refresh on my Gamertag so Xbox servers can properly detect my username everywhere? Thanks in advance.

We thank you for bringing this inquiry to our forums community, and understand that this concerns an improper showing of your Xbox Live gamertag on multiple locations regarding Xbox services.

Our suggestion here, it is recommended to remove and then add your profile where you see your
old gamertag. This will provide each device with the most up to date version of your profile.

Try this out for us and then let us know the results.

Hi Javiar, across all of my devices I have signed out (+ removed my account), cleared my cache, and signed back in multiple times with no dice. I will point out that my Xbox console is currently displaying things correct, but that could be subject to change
like it has before.

Microsoft has said that it will delete inactive accounts that have been made dormant for a certain period of time, so it is just a case of being patient and seeing if the gamertag you want will become available in the near future. If you want this name
for your account then why not try putting numbers either before or after envy to see if that variation of the gamertag is available for you to use right away?

The only way for someone to of gotten your old gamer tag would have been to get your account information for that gamertag then go in and change that gamertag.

And then change there gamertag that they have on an account already to your gamertag.

Or if you have not signed into that old account in a certain period of time then they would close that old account of yours and recycle the gamertag.

Are you sure that the gamertag was not just attached to an old email address of yours that you dont remember?

Not true. After a Gamertag goes unused for an extended period of time, it will be taken off the servers and available for someone to choose.

(I had this happen to one of my first accounts I made, the gamertag is currently available since the account has not been touched in roughly 4 years)
