    I need to start this by saying i’m really pissed off. the support team were nice to talk to but really unhelpful. My main xbox account was taken over by an @rambler.ru email.

    I verified my xbox network ID and other things with a real person at text support and they said they were going to transfer my data to a new account. So i made a new account, as asked, and got an email back saying they can’t give me my account back. And now i can’t even use that new account which is so dumb.

    So been kicked out of my main account, lost hundreds on games, lost my saves lost everything i’ve had for a decade - and microsoft’s response was to not even let me have a new account

    I’m willing to do anything to prove i’m the official account owner. I have emails from purchases years ago, i have youtube footage of me playing, im even signed in on my series s but as soon as i connect to wifi i get kicked off (i have a 360 and series s but i use my standard xbox one on my tv mainly)

    If anyone from the community or microsoft can help out a bit more personally, all i want is to be able to call someone at microsoft instead of being faced with a bot, then an unhelpful person at text support, and explain my case because i refuse to believe it’s impossible for me to prove i’m the official owner.

    i’m currently waiting for an email back from support. they told me at first there’s nothing that can be done, i kept asking and asking and now they finally think they can help. you’ve been so useless. i don’t care what your system shows, i have receipts for purchases, screenshots of my profile, my emails from the account that was deleted that microsoft keeps telling me never existed and i had to send them multiple pictures to prove they’re wrong

    i’m sorry but i refuse to believe nothing can be done. it’s literally an illegal data breach while has left me with financial damage, like i deserve compensation. i’m not trying to take the piss but i don’t think i’m asking for too much, i just want the money for the games i’ve bought or the games to be given access back. i have ID that shows my name is the same as my account. like what’s the issue. i get you probably don’t have the authority to help and you’re just trying to help out but could you just not try if you’re just going to keep leading me in circles. i’ve been told i’ll get my account back and i won’t by so many people at microsoft, surely it’s either a yes or no. disappointing. either i’ll get my account back or i’ll get my money back and buy a **** ps5 lol

We're sorry to hear about your experience however, no one here in Microsoft Community can access any personal information that will help us determine you are the account owner. We believe that you are the account owner thus, proving it in here will not get you any progress of what you can do when you are with the right team. They are trained with the process on how to handle these data you are trying to give to us. As technical support, it saddens me to read this kind of request that is beyond our area of expertise.     I'm sorry you're having this issue, as I understand your concerns about the privacy of your account and how annoying not being able to access it can be. Situations where our email account with personal information, contacts, messages and even our documents are really involved are a little more delicate.

    When the hacker manages to change the password, and the account alias, it is because he also has access to security information, as well as, cell phone, alternative email that you yourself registered in your account.

    Unfortunately, when the hacker manages to change the account's security information, the account is hardly recoverable. That's why it's very important to keep your security info up to date and use different passwords across all platforms.

    Even if you create the account with the same domain as before, you will not be able to view your games, subscriptions and emails, as it is a new account.

    I'm a user like you and there's not much I can do in the community as visibility is public. Contact MSA Support and see if you can follow the Account Takeover (ATO), investigation is done on a case-by-case basis.
