    My account bricks consoles and/or cannot be used to log into XBox systems. What is going on.


    About 4 years ago, a friend upgraded XBoxes, and brought me his old one. I used the app to set it up, and everything was great. I went to download my already purchased games and peruse the store, and suddenly... everything just stopped working. The xbox just stopped responding. A factory reset did nothing to resolve the issue.

    I went back to my original XBox, and the issues persisted... even on this original system that as I remember didn't have any issues to begin with. One again, factory resets were performed, USB reset stick was tried, nothing worked.

    Things that have happened on one or both systems *only* after my account was logged in and connected:

    * System became laggy to the point of being non-functional
    * System would turn itself immediately off after being turned on
    * System would refuse to update (it threw a random error code [which I don't have anymore, sadly] that wasn't even in Xbox support)
    * System would boot normally, then show a black screen.
    * Problems persisted even after factory resets/reboots/leaving the system unplugged overnight.

    Today, my friend gave me another XBox, one that was working for him just fine. I logged into my account on the app, and went to set up the Xbox. The XBox refused to set up. It started fine, i inputted the code and started the process, but it then errored out, just saying something went wrong and to try again. Eventually, the Xbox screen showed a new code, so I started over again, entered the new code. The app then asked for the QR code on the screen, but when I focused my camera on the code, the app continued to loop error out saying to try again. Over and over and over.

    I would like to note that all of these Xboxes (three to date) worked fine under my friend's account, and only became unusable when my account was inputted. Even a factory reset hasn't fixed the first two.

    I have no enforcements on my account.

    I have no devices attached to my account.

    I've had this account for 10+ years.

    I've been trying to find a way to contact XBox support and talk to a person, but apparently that's not a thing you can do anymore.

    Has anyone had an issue like this? Is there a way to resolve the issue? Do I have to start all over again with a clean account, or am i doomed to just never use XBox ever again (which is what I'm beginning to lean heavily towards)

    In a word, no.

    What most people call game sharing is actually just the home console feature. Microsoft accounts cannot share their games with other accounts, what's actually happening is an account defines a particular console as their home console, allowing their licensed software to be used without needing their account to be logged in. If your sister has defined your xbox console as her home console, any user on that console can use her software, but they can only be used on other devices by her account.

    To my knowledge, you cannot define a computer as a home console, only xbox consoles.

    I have this Same setup for My kids. What you have to do is make the Xbox the Family is going to use your Home console. You don't have to be logged in for the to use the games on that system. Then you put your Profile on the other system and you can log
    in there to play the games with them.

    Example: My Home Xbox is my Xbox one S (my profile and all the family profiles installed). The kids use that one to play digital games I've purchased and to share my live account. My Xbox one X only has my profile. I can log in there to access my digital
    games and use my Live features.

    it works really well with a two system setup.

    No, you want us to log in to the account and we CANNOT

    WE DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE EMAIL.

    The only place it's logged in currently is the Xbox one console.

    I don't know what else to tell you dude.

    XBOX ultimate on multiple XBOX'es

    No, you cannot use your game pass ultimate on 3 Xbox consoles at the same time. For starters, you cannot log in on the same account on multiple Xbox consoles at the same time.

    What you can do is share your game pass ultimate subscription on one console, by setting that console as the home Xbox. Once you have done that, then anyone using the Home Xbox can access the game pass ultimate subscription without having to log in with
    the account that has the subscription.

    You can still log in with the account that has the subscription and play your games and access gold as much as you want on any Xbox, and your son can use his account on the home Xbox and access the subscription on there.

    Your XBox and EA Accounts Don't Match" - Hacked Account, or EA/MS Scam?

    when you load an ea game on the xbox console be it 360 or one and dont log into an ea account it usually creates one, you can log into ea with an xbox account or email, it is a daft system.

    you need to log into ea with your xbox account and remove the link then log into your normal ea account with the email address and then link.

    if you cannot do it then open a ticket with EA for assistance.
