MW2 cross gen disc wont load on Xbox one.

All my other discs load instantly but the new Modern Warfare 2 disc - while the Xbox one makes the usual start up noises - doesn’t seem to be recognised when you put it into the Xbox one.

I’ve tried a factory reset of my xbox one but even through doing that, when you put this so called cross gen disc into the Xbox one it doesn’t show it. After the xbox makes its disc loading up noises the noises eventually stop, but no game follows.

The disc is fresh out of the box without any scratches and looks as clean as a disc would expected to be when boxfresh.

No error message with the non loading.

Nothing at all.

It’s as if the disc isn’t even in the machine.

This didn't work for me, but I also have crash bandicute cross gen that also doesn't work on my xbox one x. Both disks work perfectly on my xbox one s but not on the x. Wish they would sort it out

I managed to work out what the problem was so figured there might be others who run into the same issues so here’s how I got to the bottom of it.

While the disc did not load up like any other and launch into auto play. The content of the disc was found in ‘See Full Library” section inside Games & Apps. This has never happened with any game disc I have ever put into the xbox one and - in fact - the games found in the “See Full Library” section are all games that I have played at some point but have deleted from my xbox one.

Why a new and unplayed game that has never been installed to my xbox one would be stored in their is anyone’s guess!

Hello ICELion7, I think there should be some confusion with the themenologies.

Cross-Gen Bundle means you can install the game on both the regular Xbox One and the new generation.

In addition to installing MW2 on the console and PC with the same game license it would have to be Playanywhere, which is not the case with the Cross-Gen Bundle, it was made only for xbox.

And if the MW2 is cross-platform it will allow you to play with people from other platforms like PlayStation, and PC.

I had three discs from different stores..

My brother had the same issue.

The last disc (which wouldn't read on my One X or my original Xbox one) works perfectly fine on my Series X.

It's not a faulty disc.

It's older drives and cross gen games.

My One X played everything else perfectly.

It's an issue with these cross gen x/s discs..

Nothing you can say is going to convince me otherwise..
