    MW2 continues to lock up and then reboot / shut off my XB Series X


    Seems to be getting worse day after day especially after the new season dropped. At first the game would crash my xbox while playing DMZ or WZ2. Now it crashes my xbox no matter what mode I am in for MW2.

    This is the only game that crashes my XB. I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times. I have tried all of the different GFX settings posted all over the internet and it continues to happen way too much.

    Mostly posting this to see if anyone has com across any fixes for this besides not playing...

    Don't worry we will work on this together. Let's try to troubleshoot.

    Don't worry we will fix this together. Please make sure you can sign in all your profiles. Let's try to restore the console back to factory defaults but we will select keep my games and apps so it won't remove your games and progress.

    Please follow the steps here:

    - Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    - Select Settings

    - Select System

    - Select Console info & updates

    - Select Reset console

    - Select Keep Games and Apps

    After this, you will have to sign in again with your email and password. Then please check if there's any changes. Thanks!

    Halo Infinite Crashing XBOX Series X?

    I have the same crashing issue. I can watch the opening scene to where the Master Chief is dropped off the platform the screen fades to black and that’s where it locks up. I downloaded this game five times on the Series X. I did resets and complete resets, nothing works. The same thing happens with Forza 5. All other games work fine. I can play MS Flight Simulator for hours with no problems

    I did get to play Halo Infinite once by downloading it to my Xbox one x. I made it pass the part where it keeps locking up. Played on for about 30 minutes Let the game do a few saves..Then shut the xbox down and waited about 20 minutes. Then started up Halo Infinite on the Series x selected continue and was able to play through a few levels until the Jan 19 th update that wiped out all the saves.

    I'm also having the same issue on Xbox series X. My MW2 crashes when I die. This happens almost every other match. No error message.

    I've tried hard reboot, even uninstalled and reinstalling the game. Nothing has helped so far.

    Which type of Xbox do you own?

    If it's a Series X or S, you no longer have to put it into "instant on" (now called "sleep") mode for downloads to continue once the console is turned off. They will continue in "shut down" (previously called "energy saving") mode too.

    In that instance, it's more likely to be some kind of router/networking issue.
