    a number of people have commented on the fact that sinse a recent update there is a constant mute symbol next to the charge indicator on the top right.

    Having searched the forum Is there a solution for this yet please, as we can no longer speak to anyone in gameplay, thus making Live a waste of time and money?

    Thank you for posting on the forums today. I'd be happy to help.

    What troubleshooting have you already tried to try and resolve this issue? Have you tried using different controllers and different headsets?

    Have you tried the headset on any other devices like a laptop or mobile device?

    Since you say this happened after a recent update, then a soft factory reset
    would be beneficial to try as well. Just make sure to have your login credentials as you will need to re-add the account to the Xbox during the set up.

    I recommend taking a look at the following troubleshooting articles:




    If the problem persists:

    • Try your Xbox One Stereo Headset
      with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working. If not, the headset will need to be replaced.
    • Try your Headset on another
      controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try
      updating the first controlleragain.
      If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the
      Xbox Online Service Center.

    Try this out and let us know the results.

    We also highly suggest utilizing the Xbox Insider Hub app to report this issue since the report goes straight to the teams who will work on a solution. You can even provide the screenshot you provided here as screenshots of the issue will go a long way in
    gathering the important data needed to find a solution to this.
