  1. Music limit with homegroup sharing?

Hi. I just recently synced my computer to my 360 via my network's homegroup and while everything works and is playing correctly I noticed that all 28.8 GBs of my music is on there only a handful of random songs are being shown, 153 to be exact.

I've made sure that the music drive I'm streaming off of is open to sharing + the sub folders that are in some of the albums.

Also, when I see an album I only see 1 or 2 songs out of that whole album, not the full album.

Can anybody explain why my Xbox 360 isn't picking up all of my music? thank you.

    :)

    Media Files Not Found

This thread came up in a search, so I thought I would share how I managed to get the xbox one to recognize media files in a Windows 8.1 computer. You need to add/share the media libraries to the homegroup. The steps are:

Goto Control Panel -> click on 'Choose homegroup and sharing options'

Select 'Change what you're sharing with the homegroup'

Ensure Pictures, Videos, and Music have 'Shared' selected, then click next. Click finished.

Xbox one should see the media folders now--at least it did for me. I don't remember having to go through these steps with Windows 7.

Play To isn't working from my Win 8 Pro PC to my Xbox 360

I'm getting one of two errors every time I try to use Play To from Music. One is "this app can't send to other devices right now". The other is "you don't have any devices that can receive content from music".

My Xbox 360 does have Play To enabled. My PC is on a Private network (same one as the Xbox), and Network Discovery is on, if that matters. I have a Homegroup created, if that matters, though no other device is connected to that Homegroup. I have Music, Photos,
and Videos set to share in the Homegroup, and Media Devices are allowed.

I do not see any way to have the Xbox 360 "join" the Homegroup, but I've also not read anything that makes it seem as if that would be necessary.

What in the world more do I need to do to make this work? I'm a bit more savvy than the average user--how is the rest of my family supposed to get this?

    Music Library Managemenr

    Hi

You won't be able to copy all your music to the Xbox Hard Drive, only rip CD's onto them which would be a lot of work for you by the sounds of how much music you have.

I would suggest trying a HomeGroup setup on your Main PC and then the Surface RT's can join that, you should be able to share your music Libraries to those devices over the network.

Can't connect Xbox 360 to PC

You have to set up sharing and homegroups again. Stop sharing media on your network via Windows Media Player, and re-enable it.

xbox wmp to PC with multiple IP setup

You don't even need WMP or WMC open for your Xbox 360 to search Specifc OS Music/Video/Picture Libraries in Windows, when you connect to your computer in Music or Video Player etc..

You can also, just set up a HomeGroup for the Three IP Addresses on your NIC & share files between IP Addresses too, as the OP obviously, hasn't got NAT between NIC IPs etc..
