Multiple HDD enclosure w/ JBOD RAID UASP

Having a hard time getting a straight answer with the ol' Google searches.

I recently upgraded my storage server to 8x6TB HDDs and now I have a whack-ton of 2TB HDDs laying around. My external 3TB is getting full and my internal drive on my X1X was full long ago.

Does anyone know of an enclosure that'll support 4-8 drives and present a single logical volume to an X1X as a storage target?

Ideally, I would love to be able to span the HDDs into a single storage volume so the Xbox thinks that a single large drive is attached.

You would have to setup each one differently and it only supports 3 external.drives anyways

Not really concerned with speed. I'm after capacity. And a single enclosure would have less of a financial impact than new large format drives with the bonus of being expandable and possibly fault-tolerant.

It will also only recognise a maximum of 16TB and they need to be USB 3.0 to be used for games storage.

Yes, but it seems a little 'OTT' to me For console. It also looks like it would be a bit of a nightmare to rebuild an array should it fail. If not a 'nightmare', then at least, a very, very time consuming process.

Alas, I only know the basics of this kind of stuff, but it seems to me, RAID is more suited to PC than to console. There is so much more support and tried and tested ways to fix issues when they arise on PC.

Most of the users of this forum are not technical, so it's likely they havn't understood What you're trying to do here, luckily I do.

I've seen forum Posts about using multiple drives as a RAID array on Xbox and I've seen loading benchmarks on youtube, but no setup videos. Not even sure how you would configure the enclosure to set it to RAID 0 or RAID 1 prior to formatting. It's not something
that is officially supported.

Even if It did work, the performance gain is only about 20%, not worth it in my opinion as you're limited to the transfer Speed Of the USB 3.0 port.
