    Multiple Glitches with Home Xbox/Game Share


    So a few months ago, I added my account to a friends Xbox. Then recently, my brother (Who shares an Xbox with me) started not being able to access games that HE bought on his account, even though I still could. (Yes he had it set as his home xbox). We then
    realized that for some reason, my home xbox had been set to another xbox (I checked with my friend and it wasn't his). Once we reset it to ours, he had access to his games again. So basically it transferred ownership of his games to me AND unset it as mine
    home xbox. This was fixed for about a week until it happened again. When i went back to reset my home xbox, it says ive already done it 5 times (Which i believe even with the glitched changes should only be 5) so i can do it again in 2019. This doesn't affect
    me personally, but my brother no longer has access to his games, and anyone i gameshared with can no longer access my games. I would love if someone could help me fix this, or at least explain to me why this happened.

    Why can you only set a home Xbox 3 times a year?

    The Home console feature exists for family members to share games and gold memberships. It's also useful for people treveling or people with multiple consoles. It's not to be used for gamesharing with friends. That is why there is a limit.

    "If you have more than one Xbox One console, or if you sign in on multiple consoles, we recommend you designate the most frequently used console as your home Xbox."

    Thanks for reaching out!

    The Home Xbox feature will allow you can share content with other consoles at home. Make sure to not share any personal information with anyone.

    The My home Xbox setting allows you to do the following:

    • Share games and downloadable content purchased from Microsoft Store with anyone else who signs in on your console. You can even share games downloaded as part of a subscription.

    the thing I brought up was, 'an account only can share with one other xbox, but if you had multiple different accounts game sharing on one console, you should be able to play any of the games from any of the accounts'
    This is correct. Multiple accounts can set 1 console as their Home, but each account can only set 1 console as their Home.

    Consoles don't get subscribed. Xbox accounts are what the subscriptions are tied to.

    FYI, sharing account details to gameshare can result in account bans. Xbox Home gamesharing is intended to be used when there are multiple Xbox's in one home. Giving out account details in order to share games with friends can be considered marketplace
    theft/fraud.

    Make sure that the xbox has the account you are using set as "My Home Xbox", you can only play certain content offline without making your xbox your accounts home (to prevent game sharing with multiple people who'll just go offline as soon as the game
    they want is downloaded and basically share 1 game with 10 friends at once)
