  1. Multiple Family Settings Issues

Thank you to anyone that can be of assistance with the issues I am having. I have contacted support with little success, and I plan to give it another try, but perhaps you all can steer me in the right direction. I am having multiple issues regarding the accounts that are all a part of my Microsoft Family. But before I outline the issues, let me give you context. We currently have an X-Box One S and an X-Box Series S in my home. I and my wife both have an X-Box profile, and we have three children, each with their own profile - and all connected via Microsoft Family. Here are the issues:

    1. I am subscribed to Gamepass, but my wife cannot access the content (she primarily uses the Series S). My understanding is that I should only have to buy one gamepass sub for my household. Help me out if that is incorrect.

    2. We primarily play minecraft together as a family. We play on a realm that is maintained by a family friend. When my wife logs on to the Series S (as an adult and family organizer for our Microsoft Family), it says that she cannot play multiplayer and that she needs to change the settings on her xbox account to allow this. I have done this several times, and every possible setting that I can change for her to 'Allow' has been changed, but she still cannot access the realm. If I log on to the series S with my profile, she can then access the realm with hers, but I cannot understand why that would be necessary considering she is an adult and all the settings are set to 'Allow.'

    3. If my wife is playing on her profile on the Series S, and my son shuts the X-Box One S off that he was using his account to play, it boots my wife off of Minecraft and she has to log back in. Every time.

Essentially, there is something wonky about our profiles and accounts in the context of the Microsoft Family Settings. One additional detail is that the family was created several years ago (Me and my three children) and only recently has my wife created an account and become a Family Organizer.

Again, thank you for any advice you can give!

    :)

    Thanks for getting back, Michael.

As of now, game pass for friends and family is on the works and it is being offered to certain region at this time.

You can head over here https://support.xbox.com/help/subscriptions-bil... for your reference.

This would be beneficial for you once its offered to everyone - if your region isn't included yet for this subscription.

    To answer your questions:

    1. Your children will lose access to the subscription and games. If you sign in on the old console, they can only get your gold as previously stated (the two ways to share gold).

    2. Yes, your wife needs gold to play online even if she has configured her privacy settings, the game will still identify that there's an issue with her privacy settings if she lacks gold.

    3. At this time, none. You can only set one home console at a time. Unless the game pass friend and family is offered, you may opt for that.

Hi Michael, I'd love to clarify.

Microsoft Family Settings only allows you to manage your members in the family group.

You would need to set a certain console as home to be able to share your games and subscription within your household. Please know that you can only set one home console at a time.

    *You may refer here: https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/...

If you only leave your account signed in, you can only share your gold subscription.

*Here are two ways how to share gold: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/subscriptio...

If you have set all your wife's settings, the error usually means that the game is unable to identify that she has gold thus, showing there's an error with her privacy settings. It would fall to the conclusion that your subscription isn't being shared with her.

    Here's what you can do:

-Set a designated home console in your household

-Once you did, you can log out from that console, you don't need to be signed in anymore.

    Here's how:

-Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

-Profile & System > Settings > Account > Remove account

-Select your profile, and then select "Remove" to confirm.

    -Once done, select Close.

For the other console, only you or you can leave your account signed in so whoever signs in can be able to access your gold without having you log off from the other console.

    Thank you for the response!

I have some clarifying questions. First, let me make certain that we have had the X-Box One S for quite some time and only recently purchased the Series S. Therefore, my account and the gamepass sub are tied to the One S.

    1. If I make the Series S my new main X-Box, will my children not be able to benefit from Gamepass on the One S?

    2. Is Minecraft multiplayer restricted to Gold sub members? And that is why my wife cannot play on the realm?

    3. Is there a simple solution that allows my whole family to benefit from Gamepass with multiple XBox consoles within one home? We will likely be adding another Series S or Series X at some point, is each console supposed to have its own subscription?
