    Super frustrating... unable to join friends game in GTA5.... Worked fine several days ago, no updates and no changes made... From the XBOX home screen when I click on a friends name and pull up the dropdown list and select "join Game" it fires me off to the Microsoft store like i don't own the game.... this happens on both my XBOX Series X and my XBOX One systems... I am able to start a party and communicate with my friends and I am able to Natively start the game and play multiplayer but I am unable to join friends games from either the XBOX system screen or the in game friend selection option from the pause menu.... At this point I have been unable to try any other games to see if this is only related to gta or if its system wide due to available friends with the same games at the time of writing this post... I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no change (120gigs, not real happy about that) my current Nat settings are showing as "OPEN"....     full system restart, checked nat settings, restarted my router in the house, uninstalled and reinstalled.... also when it takes me to the MS store it shows as "Unavailable at this time"??

    So, is this happening with the Series X/S version. Right?

    May I know if you already tried power cycling your console?
    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
    Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

    Aftert that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

    Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes and try again once everything is up and running

    And if you're able to do it, try using a different wifi network to see how it goes
    (Sharing mobile data via wifi Hotspot works)

    Hope you're doing great today Dusty

    Which GTA version do you have? The one for Xbox One system or the newer Xbox Series X/S systems?

    If it's one of the two, your friends or the people you want to you also have the same version?
    Is aks this due to GTA V Series X/S doesn't have crossplay with Xbox one version and vice versa.

    Please try with another game, that helps us to isolate the issue

    Besides reinstalling the game, which troubleshooting steps you have done so far?

    all the games seem to work fine on both systems for normal play, just an issue when I try to join a friends session, currently none of my friends are playing anything right now so I cant currently test any of the "fixes" that you have mentioned... I will need to test this at a later time, Thanks for the help, I will leave this forum open and post any changes one way or the other when I have the chance to test
