  1. Multiplayer Function in Minecraft on PC

I want to buy Minecraft on my PC to play online with my friends but I don't know if the Multiplayer function on PC is free or costs extra money. Also, I already own Minecraft Bedrock Edition on my switch. Do I need to pay to get Minecraft on my PC again? Can you please answer both my questions?

    :)

Multiplayer Function in Minecraft on PC

Hi there Gael, my name is Gerardo, and I'm an Xbox player. I'll be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

On PC, you don't need any subscription to play online the games you have purchased, don't worry.

On the other hand, please keep in mind that Minecraft is a game that can only be played on the device you purchase it for. For instance, if you have purchased Minecraft for Nintendo Switch, you can only play it on that device and not on any other device. If you want to play it on a different device, you must buy it specifically for that device.

I have also had a similar experience myself. I bought Minecraft for my Xbox, but I had to buy it again for my PC to play it there.

You can also find this information on the official Minecraft Support website at the following link:

I appreciate your understanding and if you have further questions please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Gerardo.

It's a shortterm used for minecraft. I got the full version. As I stated before even though I enabled the multiplayer function the xbox privacy settings put on allowed on the other stuff it still doesnt enable the multiplayer feature for me. The device I use is a pc with windows 10.

    Minecraft multiplayer not functioning.

    Hello Alden Berkey ,

We appreciate you for sharing this with us and welcome to Xbox Forums.

We understand that you're having trouble with Minecraft multiplayer. Nothing to worry, we'll work on this together.

Before we proceed, I will be asking you few questions that will help us understand further:

    1. Can you provide more details about the error message you are receiving when trying to select the multiplayer option?
    2. Have you checked your multiplayer settings in the game itself, not just on the Xbox settings page?
    3. Do you see any error message when you try to play this game in multiplayer from your end? Can you provide it to me please?
    4. How is your internet connection? Have you tried playing on a different network?
    5. Is your game up to date? Sometimes, outdated versions can cause issues with multiplayer features.

In the meantime, let's make sure that your Microsoft account is properly linked to your Minecraft account. You can check this by logging into your account on the Minecraft website and verifying that your Microsoft account is listed under the "Linked Accounts" section.

If your account is properly linked, the next step is to check your Xbox Live settings. You mentioned that you have already set all account settings to "Allow" on the Xbox settings page, but let's double-check that you have enabled multiplayer specifically. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Xbox website and sign in with your Microsoft account.

    2. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select "Settings".

    3. Under "Privacy & online safety", select "Xbox privacy".

    4. Scroll down to the "Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety" section and make sure that "Join multiplayer games" is set to "Allow".

If this setting is already set to "Allow", the next step is to check your firewall settings. Make sure that Minecraft is allowed through your firewall by following these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type "control firewall.cpl" and press Enter.

    3. Click on "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall".

    4. Scroll down to "Minecraft" and make sure that both the "Private" and "Public" checkboxes are checked.

If Minecraft is already allowed through your firewall, the last step is to try resetting your network settings. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type "cmd" and press Enter to open the Command Prompt.

    3. Type "ipconfig /release" and press Enter.

    4. Type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter.

    5. Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter.

After completing these steps, try launching Minecraft and see if you are able to select the option to play multiplayer. If you are still having trouble, please let me know and we can explore other options.

We appreciate you for letting us know about this information and for confirming the issue was resolved after waiting for 12 hours on your end.
