    MultiMC 5 "XBox user authentication failed."


    Hello,

    I do in MMC 5
    >"Add Microsoft"
    >"Please open up https://www.microsoft.com/link in a browser and put in the code XYZ to proceed with login."
    >I login, accept all etc.
    >Microsoft gives me message "You have completed logging in to the MultiMC application. You can now safely close this window."

    >MMC's box "XBox user authentication failed."

    I'm using Win11, all updated. No idea why this doesn't work for me. (Netherlands, no VPN)

    I've tried this https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-system-file-checker-in-windows-365e0031-36b1-6031-f804-8fd86e0ef4ca

    and read all topics about similar problems. No one had anything what helped me also asked around in there discord but the admins there also dind't know what the problem was since it all should have worked. So they suggested trying to get some help from here.

    Please help me figure this out.

    We have noticed that various users have recently encountered similar issues with MultiMC failing to authenticate with Microsoft users, but we apologize, we do not have experience checking or modifying MultiMC, perhaps you need to contact the developer of the software in question for more information.

    We recommend that you use the official recommended launcher to play Minecraft for the time being.

    authentication failed

    I had the same problem when the last major WoT update came out. Found out it was my profile being corrupted. I ended up just recovering my profile and it was all fix. But either 1,3, or 4 should of fix it. Hmm....just to be safe go through all the data on
    your HD and see if you can find more corrupted data. I'm not sure if it will fix the problem but it's the only thing I could think of right now.

    Authentication Failed

    Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

    I'll recommend you do a power cycle to clear the system cache

    - Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

    - Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 2 minutes.

    - Plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on and check if it's all good.

    If that doesn't help, I'll suggest you try doing a factory reset keeping games and apps on your console. This will refresh the console and remove all potential bugs without deleting any game data.

    - Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    - Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    - Select Reset console.

    - Choose Keep Games and Apps

    Once that is done, you'll need to sign into the console using your Microsoft account credentials. If the issue is with your console, that should fix it.
