Yes my mic on my headset no longer seems 2 register is sound on the Xbox One.

As I'm speaking now the microphone part works with the photo plug plug into my Android as I talk type.

The options to correct the issue on Microsoft website is wrong because the menu has changed and I cannot find any menu option for microphone out.

I see options like inbound chat / game sound balance.

There is no more connect an accessory settings on the settings menu. Instead there's a device and screaming setting. And eight categories. the most logical category accessories has no mic settings as far as I could tell.

I think you guys literally forgot the 3.5 mm headset settings on the Xbox One. Know where in settings do I see a logical category it could fall in.

and I tested my mic on the Android plugged in where did hear me so it's not my mic's physical fault.

    :)

To I noticed that the help guide on the Xbox website points to categories that no longer exist

    [...]

Did the old version of the OS work with both standards?
Since Xbox is revamping the whole support website, some pages might not point to the right (new) page.

This page here has the information about the two headphone plug standards: https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/accessories/connect-compatible-headset

And the old page also mentioned that you get problems with OMTP headsets. So I guess even the old OS version didn't work with OMTP headsets.

I'm guessing either the jack is partially broken or there is some dust or lint in there

have you got a pin that you could wiggle around in the jack?

Be aware that there are two standards for headset plugs called OMTP and CTIA.

In both standards the microphone and ground connections are reversed.

If your Android phone uses the OMTP standard, and the OMTP headset works on your Android phone, it will NOT work on the controller which requires a CTIA compliant headset.

Basically, the controller is then "listening" to the ground pin, while the microphone of your OMTP headset is "talking" to the ground pin of the controller.

You could try going to a phone shop or searching online for a CTIA to OMTP adapter. This adapter simply crosses the Microphone and Ground pin (so it works both ways, so you can also get a OMTP to CTIA adapter).

Since this adapter only crosses two wires, the adapter should not cost more than a coffee to go, or you're being ripped off.

    Hi there,

Do you perhaps have another headset and mic you could try? It could be that your controller 3.5mm port has become faulty.
