    MSFS: "you do not have enough space on this disk"


    I have tried to download msfs and once it reached 100%, the bar stopped moving. I restarted the client and then all of the progess was reset, with the message "you do not have enough space on this disk". MSFS has taken 163gb of storage on my pc already, and I have 10gb free. Tried Defragment your Windows 10 PC and Using System File Checker in Windows, and chkdsk didn't work.

    I would like to confirm, at the moment, the space previously used to install the game wasn’t deleted, correct?

    Additionally, did you try to install the game on the system / C: partition, or you wanted to use another partition to install the game?

    Lastly, did you download the game from the Microsoft Store, Xbox app, or did you use Steam?

    Please try taking ownership of the folder associated with Flight simulator. Once you did this process, delete the folder from your drive.
    Make sure to empty the Windows bin.

    r: no it wasnt deleted and msfs currently takes up 163gb

    Additionally, did you try to install the game on the system / C: partition, or you wanted to use another partition to install the game?

    r: on the c drive

    Lastly, did you download the game from the Microsoft Store, Xbox app, or did you use Steam?

    r: xbox app, but it downloaded the client so i can open it from both the microsoft store and xbox app



    so how much storage do i need to install the standard version of msfs, as i might just not have enough on my disk

    Let’s try to get this space back, please try resetting the Microsoft store cache by using the wreset.exe command.

    Additionally, I would like to ask, if you open the Windows file explorer and go to this path:
    My computer > Local drive (C:) > XboxGames or to this other path:
    My computer > Local drive (C:) > WindowsApps

    Are you able to see a folder associated with Flight simulator?
