MSFS 2020 v.1.18.13.0 - Freezes and Crashes after 27/07/2021 update

Hi there Folks!

Help!!!! I have had the following issues below since I left my PC on overnight to update MSFS then “go to sleep” - waking it up to finish the update process .

1. Starting MSFS sometimes freezes at 100% - failure to launch
2. Map zoom [SCROLL] (causes crashes)
3. Flight route loading (again some freezes - failure to launch)
4. Starting a flight after clicking [FLY] (again freezes - failure to launch)
5. Also, in the pilot’s seat I now see a partial microphone in my field of view! (I have a co-pilot add-on: Feeling lonely during your flights? This free mod adds a copilot to the seat next to you! - MSFS Addons)

BIG QUESTION: What happens to all add-ons bought via Marketplace if I have to uninstall and reinstall my Premium MSFS as a LAST resort?

I have since belatedly removed the contents in my Community folder to a backup folder. (Special Note: I didn't add anything to Community folder whilst I was updating MSFS.)

I see they're rushing a patch out today, 30/07/21 at 08:00 PT / 15:00 UTC to fix crashes etc.

A hotfix is launching today for MSFS to address issues introduced with Sim Update V - MSFS Addons

STABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Fixed various crashes in game and on the world map

Fixed crashes related to the offline AI traffic

Fixed minor memory leaks

Hello Jesse,

I have similar problem . Since update 5 the sim freezes during take-off and after landing resulting most of the time in a crash. I use the A320neo. The patch did not solve the problem.

I tried all the above including everyithing at

but I still get the freezing once the blue line gets to "100%".

So for a while I give up.

In recent weeks I have spent longer reloadiong MSFS that playing it.

So I have uninstalled MSFS all completly and I MAY try re-installing at some future date when I will make sure before starting that all trace of the old install is removed.

Also I will strt off by keeping a written log of everything I do up to when the faul repeats again. (It did work for a couple of times after the last re-install).

I feel its just not stable since the update 5 and its best to wait for it to settle down.

Hey Nigel. Sorry it's pretty late over here and I was already in bed. When you try reinstalling it or installing the update from the store, what happens?

Hi Jesse,

I'm bummed! MSFS started loading then said to go to Microsoft Store and get the patch - then MSFS seemed to remove itself and TILE from my PC start menu like it never existed! Help...?

I shall - thank you for your patience. Maybe leave it until Saturday to log back on and see what's happening?

That patch should come straight up as soon as I start MSFS and the message "searching for updates" kicks in, correct?
