MSFS 2020 STOP DOWNLOADING

I can also confirm this worked for me on PC. I downloaded the XBOX app via the store.

Then, in store, clicked the three dots.

Then "downloads and updates" and sure enough there was an update for MSFS 2020 1.19.9.0. This was 507.0MB.

I then started MSFS 2020 which went to its own install manager and showed me the "Standard Content" mandatory update which was 108.12MB. The total download, however, was 3.19GB.

I then downloaded all available updates in content manager.

Once all this was complete I quit to desktop and restarted MSFS 2020 without issue.

I think it's VERY strange to need to install the XBOX app for any updates to show in the PC's Microsoft store!!

On October 30, 2021, I tried downloading again, and it worked. After the download, I was able to launch MSFS 2020, reinstall all the updates, and fly.

My system MASSIVELY exceedes the minimum spec, and also the Recommended spec, excepting for my GTX970 (soon to be replaced), so it's
not PC spec issues. I have a 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD PCIe v4 with 400GB free space. MS2020 is a PoS which should not have been released IMO, until it could be installed/worked on most machines. Not machines with clean
installs jst for MS2020, but machines that have been in daily use. It has great potential, but not yet realised, weeks later.

And have you actually followed the advice and taken the issue up with the MSFS2020 SUPPORT SITE yet?

And if so, what response have you had from them?

TO ALL WHO ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH MSFS.

1. This is a "generic" MS site, and although good enough for windows/office/etc, it is definitely NOT the best place to post MSFS issues. AFAIK, no-one from that team are monitoring this site, or if they are, they're being very quiet (unhelpful) about it.
2. Because of their lack of attention to this site, they likely don't know of your problems, so you need a new strategy.
3. Microsoft has set up its own special support site. It's at
   https://www.flightsimulator.com/, and you can crate an XBOx login (if you don't already have one), login there, and express your issues in the sure and ceertain knowledge the your issue will be addressed. maybe not instantly, but you will have it addressed.
   

OK, now if you take up the issues in the way I've suggested, you'll get a lot more satisfaction.

Now, if the download is failing, here are some questions that you should address:

• Is my Windows 10 updated to at least version 1909?
• Does my PC meet or surpass the requirements listed below?
• Have I got AT LEAST 150 GB of space ON THE DISK/PARTITION WHERE I AM TRYING TO DOWNLOAD IT?

The first question is because if you don't have the minimum version of Windows 10, you might be able todownload it, but it won't run.

The second question is because if your rig doesn't meet at least the specifications regarding processor and GPU, if it runs, it will be like a dog (sorry dogs)

The third question is because if you have insufficient space AVAILABLE on your target patition/disk, then the download will never be able to complete.
